The IPL Magic...keeping everyone spellbound!!

IPL, the mantra that is rocking India currently!!. It has got an overwhelming response from the cricket fans or rather the entire country.. All the icons of cricket around the world have gathered in India for this cricket fest.. A real bonanza for the hard core fans of cricket to watch all their stars in action. Chennai people have started supporting Hayden and want Dravid to lose!! It has turned everything upside down :)..
IPL has been an eye opener at least for me in a few aspects.
Shane Warne was the only non - Indian captain to represent a team when the tournament started. I was of the notion that his team 'Rajasthan Royals' is the weakest of the lot with very few international players and also the least experienced side. By losing their first match they confirmed it. But 3 successive wins after their first loss left me dumbstruck. With such a team managing a victory is not a simple task. All the credit goes to the captain Warne. He has succeeded as a captain in building the team, encouraging the youngsters and bringing the best outta them. If he can succeed with such a team, he could have done wonders with a team like Australia. He has always been overshadowed by ppl like Waugh and Ponting. I guess at least now they would have understood the potential of Warne as a captain.

Eye opener no:1 : For the Australian cricket board. You have lost not only a great bowler from your team but also an excellent captain.
Thought 1: Any one can perform well if they get a good lead and a lead should be good enough to bring out the best from his/her team.

Deccan chargers... The strongest of the lot. A team to boast of with Gilly, Symonds, Gibbs, Afridi and many others on their side. This team was the one that is expected to win the tournament. But they surprised everyone by recording a hat trick loss!!!. The primary reason being the pathetic captaincy by VVS.

Thought 2: Even if you have a team that can perform really well, a bad lead can ruin the success of that team.

The concept of domestic T20 tournament is actually conceived by Kapil Dev. The real reason for the BCCI to come up with IPL is to overshadow the ICL. I think they have achieved their goal. I don't even remember when the ICL matches took place and who all played for it!!. The BCCI and the owners of the 8 teams have done a great job in projecting the IPL and their teams and hence succeeded in achieving the attention of the entire nation. They have also made good profit out of it. Poor Kapil, i really pity him.

Thought 3: Even if you have an excellent idea, the one who projects it well gets all the credit rather than the one who conceived it.

Ahem... so many management thoughts!! :). This is what my lecturer tried to teach me for an entire semester. We had a subject called 'principles of management'. I really never paid any attention to him and finally just managed a score 0f 70+ in the university exam. Now IPL has taught me all those things ;). Some one can evaluate this blog and gimme marks. Guess i ll get a better score than before. :D.

Anyways IPL has proved to be a real entertainer and am enjoying it. Wanna know which teams i support?

Chennai super kings - For 'Namma' Chennai and Dhoni
Rajasthan Royals - For Shane Warne.

Hope they do well in the upcoming matches too.. :)
