வங்கியில் சில மணி நேரம்!! :)

It was a lazy Saturday morning when my dad called me up and asked me to go to the bank and get a few things done. He told me that the bank will be open till 11.30 am and wanted me to go to the bank asap. All he wanted was to get an entry in the pass book and transfer some money to his RD account.
I have been to bank a lot many times before but in all those outings i have just accompanied my dad. I don't even know the basic processes followed there. So now all i know is take some money from my dad's account and deposit it in his RD account. So i thought i should fill in a withdrawal slip n a deposit slip. Now where do i find these. Just walked up to a guy who was filling some slip and asked him. He said it is near the clerk's desk. I went to the clerk's desk. Voila!! I found 4 different colored slips.. i picked up one by one n finally found out the 2 slips i wanted. Phew!!
Now, time to fill them up. I haven't done it before. The terminologies were difficult to understand. I finally managed to fill both the slips. There was a column asking for signature. I signed in both the slips. Then i got a basic doubt. Can i sign in withdrawal slip as well??? I went and asked my mom to sign. She didn't even take a look at the slip. She told me that every time my brother does this and she has never signed it. I was confused but what to do..i jus went n joined the queue.
After sometime it was my turn and i handed over the slips along with the pass book to the guy in the counter. He opened some application typed in the acc no. and checked the signature. My mom's sign popped up in the screen. He looked at me n asked me 'Whose acc is this?'. I told him 'My mom's acc'. He then gave me a sarcastic look n asked me 'How can u sign for your mom's acc. where is your mom?'. An old man standing behind me started giggling. aargh.. what an embarrassment.. i then asked my mom to talk to him and went n sat in a corner.. My mom came back after a few minutes with some money in hand. I was puzzled.. I asked her 'Didn't u deposit it in Dad's RD account?' to which she replied 'He has given some auto rule which allows the bank to debit from his savings acc n credit it in his RD acc automatically. So we need not fill these slips jus an entry in pass book is all that is required'.Since we have filled the withdrawal slip he gave us the specified amount as well. i was totally pissed off.. I spent nearly an hour in the bank for absolutely nothing!! Sigh!!!..
So what to do with the money now. I have to fill up a deposit slip and join the queue again to put it back in my dad's savings account.Nooooo..Not again!!I didn't have the guts to see that guy again. So me n mom decided to go home with the money..
Phew!! After reaching home i narrated the story to everyone at home n had a hearty laugh!! After all i learnt something new that day.. :)

By the way don't ask me why i have given a title in Tamil n written the contents in English. Google is doing something weird it is translating my title alone!!! Need to check..

Half blood Prince!!

Ya i wanted to pen down a few things about this movie immediately after watching it.. Remembered it only today(Thanks Sheik!! for reminding me :)).
This movie released on a Friday and i was eager to watch it over that weekend.. Alas!! i didn't get tickets. So i decided to bunk office and watch the movie!! OK...don't stare at me now.. My brother and one of my cousins accompanied me to Satyam on a Wednesday afternoon to watch this movie..
Now.. am not gonna give you a complete review.. Just a few things i liked/disliked.
I liked a very few scenes in the movie.. The one where Harry and dumbledore tries to find a horcrux is just amazing.. It has been shot exactly the way in which it is described in the book.
Harry and Dumbledore visiting slughorn is good too.
Now i just wonder why they squeezed in so many romantic scenes in this movie. Probably it is no more a movie for the children..Even HP, Hermy n Ron have grown up.There are many important things like Voldemort's childhood, how he makes horcruxes, what could be the horcruxes etc which should have a found a place in the movie..All these have been left out :(. Instead the movie is concentrating on the relationships b/w Ron n Hermione, harry n Ginny.
The climax is totally different from the book... am very disappointed.. :(
After watching the movie i spoke to sridhar n told him that am utterly disappointed. To my surprise he told me that he enjoyed the movie.. probably because of the company he had :P
I should have listened to Sheik and Vijay.. they warned me beforehand.. Sigh!! I partly lost my love for HP after watching this movie..

Its Back! :)

Its back...n so am I. :). Well am talking abt the IPL.. I was lil disappointed when it was moved to South Africa. :( I was planning to visit the Chepauk stadium at least this time to watch a match.. hmmm bad luck.. Still i will be able to watch every match.. thanks to the idiot box.

Last year, it was 8 teams, with 7 Indian captains. Wat happened this time!!!! We are left with only 4 Indian captains.. wat a pity!! Dada, Dravid n VVS are always shown the door.. Poor guys!!

As always I support CSK!!! Not sure whether Freddie is a good addition to the team.. Is he really worth 7.5 crores??? :O . . I just wonder..

Yesterday’s loss to Mumbai Indians is disheartening :( .. I would firmly say Freddie is the reason.. He neither did anything good with the bat nor the ball.. a very poor show!! Hayden was at his best as always. Not sure wat is the strategy of CA!! Wat made them show the door for Hayden?? Anyways their loss is our gain n Hayden will be available for all the CSK matches .. That makes me feel confident... n that makes CSK one of the strong contenders for winning the trophy :)
Let s wait n see wat happens!!!

Atrocity at its peak :(

Yesterday me n my brother decided to go to TNagar to do some shopping. We reached an old bus stop(The bus stop has been shifted to a new spot and hence this point serves as a share-auto stop). After reaching that place we came to know that the share - auto walas were on a strike.. Oh god!! Since i was too lazy to walk to the bus stop, i decided to hire an auto. There was an old man standing near us. He too was waiting to hire an auto. He is the one who gave us the info abt the strike, he also told us that the ordinary auto walas are demanding 50 bucks!!! to go to TNagar.
From Ashok Nagar, Tnagar should be just 2 - 3 kms and they are adjacent areas. We usually pay 20 - 25 bucks for that distance on a normal auto and 5 bucks each on a share - auto. Just because there were no share - autos yesterday and ppl were forced to take the normal autos these auto walas have just doubled the rates. Finally that old man, me and my bro took an auto and decided to share the 50 bucks. The auto we took wasn't even the ordinary yellow one meant for public use, it was a private auto painted blue. They are not even supposed to take public passengers.!!
There was another incident where i was forced to pay 70 bucks for a travel from Guindy to Ashok Nagar. I had a bag in my hand on which my company name was printed. The auto wala told me that since am making hell lotta money!! i HAVE to pay him so that he can survive!!.. huh wat do these ppl think.. Are software ppl given machines to print currency notes!! We too toil like others to make money.. Agreed!! We are not working under the hot sun all day and not the ones to put drastic physical work.. still we have to travel for nearly 3 hours everyday. Pressure, Stress and mental strain are something we undergo everyday. Dont think that we are paid 'heftily'!! for just sitting in an A/C room.
Oops. I wanted to just cite the atrocities of the auto - walas and it ended up somewhere.
Hope someone will save us from these money - sucking auto walas. No ray of hope yet..sigh!!!

Finally!!!!

Huh... Finally got some time to post something on my blog.. Life has become really hectic these days :(.
The intention of the title is not just that i finally got some time to write.. It is also about the finals of the IPL. Check my previous post for the teams i support. It is a great pleasure to watch them play, against each other in the finals. The way both the teams marched to the finals by thrashing their opponents in the semi - finals is simply superb. Also they gave us an exciting, nail biting finals to watch.. This doesn't end here. There is going to be a champions league by the end of this year where the finalists from India, SA, Australia and England will be fighting for the title.. Yes!! the Rajasthan Royals n Chennai super kings have made it to the champions league too.. Hurray!!!!! Let us hope they meet in the finals again :)

The IPL Magic...keeping everyone spellbound!!

IPL, the mantra that is rocking India currently!!. It has got an overwhelming response from the cricket fans or rather the entire country.. All the icons of cricket around the world have gathered in India for this cricket fest.. A real bonanza for the hard core fans of cricket to watch all their stars in action. Chennai people have started supporting Hayden and want Dravid to lose!! It has turned everything upside down :)..
IPL has been an eye opener at least for me in a few aspects.
Shane Warne was the only non - Indian captain to represent a team when the tournament started. I was of the notion that his team 'Rajasthan Royals' is the weakest of the lot with very few international players and also the least experienced side. By losing their first match they confirmed it. But 3 successive wins after their first loss left me dumbstruck. With such a team managing a victory is not a simple task. All the credit goes to the captain Warne. He has succeeded as a captain in building the team, encouraging the youngsters and bringing the best outta them. If he can succeed with such a team, he could have done wonders with a team like Australia. He has always been overshadowed by ppl like Waugh and Ponting. I guess at least now they would have understood the potential of Warne as a captain.

Eye opener no:1 : For the Australian cricket board. You have lost not only a great bowler from your team but also an excellent captain.
Thought 1: Any one can perform well if they get a good lead and a lead should be good enough to bring out the best from his/her team.

Deccan chargers... The strongest of the lot. A team to boast of with Gilly, Symonds, Gibbs, Afridi and many others on their side. This team was the one that is expected to win the tournament. But they surprised everyone by recording a hat trick loss!!!. The primary reason being the pathetic captaincy by VVS.

Thought 2: Even if you have a team that can perform really well, a bad lead can ruin the success of that team.

The concept of domestic T20 tournament is actually conceived by Kapil Dev. The real reason for the BCCI to come up with IPL is to overshadow the ICL. I think they have achieved their goal. I don't even remember when the ICL matches took place and who all played for it!!. The BCCI and the owners of the 8 teams have done a great job in projecting the IPL and their teams and hence succeeded in achieving the attention of the entire nation. They have also made good profit out of it. Poor Kapil, i really pity him.

Thought 3: Even if you have an excellent idea, the one who projects it well gets all the credit rather than the one who conceived it.

Ahem... so many management thoughts!! :). This is what my lecturer tried to teach me for an entire semester. We had a subject called 'principles of management'. I really never paid any attention to him and finally just managed a score 0f 70+ in the university exam. Now IPL has taught me all those things ;). Some one can evaluate this blog and gimme marks. Guess i ll get a better score than before. :D.

Anyways IPL has proved to be a real entertainer and am enjoying it. Wanna know which teams i support?

Chennai super kings - For 'Namma' Chennai and Dhoni
Rajasthan Royals - For Shane Warne.

Hope they do well in the upcoming matches too.. :)

Remix Revisited..

Ahem.... it s time to eat my own words. Not all Remixes are good and actually few are really spoiling the original song. Wonder wat made me think so!!!.. Recently heard the pathetic remixes of 'aatama thaerotama', 'Paalakaatu pakathilaey' n 'paetta rap'!!.. phew i just cant stand them.. So i ve come to a conclusion that this trend is not really encouragable or the musicians should take extra care while making such songs..
